No new updates and it's just been bought out by another company
With Winamp you can listen to practically any audio format on your PC, including: FLAC, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, MIDI, AIF, ACC, MPEG-4, among many others.
Winamp interface is simple and quick to get to grips with. It has a series of "skins" with which you can change the whole look of the player, and also features many tabs which you can show or hide to have the things you want at your fingertips, when you want them.
Among the tabs you can have on show or hidden are the playlist, the library, a video window, and the equalizer, with which you can manually adjust the audio settings or use different default settings: rock, pop, classic, dance, techno, etc.
You can import audio files one by one or complete folders, whether they are stored on the hard disk or being imported from a CD, MP3 player, or even from iTunes. You can also add music files to the list by dragging them from their folder to the player.
The program allows you to edit file information and tags, so if the name of the artist or album, or any other nuggets of information are missing, you can add them manually, or have the program download info from the Internet automatically.
Winamp lets you modify audio files and convert them to the following formats: MP3, FLAC, WAV, WMA, OGG and MPEG-4. You can also set playlists to burn to CD straight from the program.
